The imposing mountain group lies mostly in Tyrol and the smaller part in Bavaria. The mighty mountain peaks are only accessible by a few hiking trails. If you want to climb high up, you should have good climbing skills. But, a visit is always worthwhile, because a breath-taking nature park with beautiful walking paths, wonderful mountain bike routes, a lot of history, turquoise-blue lakes and impressive waterfalls beckon.
